The ARC Raiders BluePrints progression system gives Raiders access to craftable equipment and rewards through research and exploration. In Season 6, Week 3, from October 20 to October 26, 2026, one of the weekly Trials challenges requires you to deal damage to ARC enemies using a Bully Fragmenter. This guide explains how to obtain the explosive, choose effective targets, reach the three-star milestone, and preserve the materials you need for blueprint research.
Bully Fragmenter Trial Requirements and Rewards
The Bully Fragmenter is an Epic throwable that splits into explosive clusters when thrown. It is one of the new items introduced in the Frozen Trail update, and it can be found by scavenging or searching the remains of a Bully ARC enemy or an ARC Courier.
The Week 3 challenge is available on all maps. You do not need to travel to Pendola Pass specifically to deal damage with the item, although that map is relevant to the new Bully enemy and other Season 6 content.
The published Trial milestones are:
| Milestone | Trial points | Approximate qualifying damage |
| One star | 1,000 | 500 |
| Two stars | 2,000 | 1,000 |
| Three stars | 3,000 | 1,500 |
The challenge awards two Trial points per point of qualifying damage under the listed scoring rules. Aim for three stars first, then consider whether additional damage is worth the extra risk and expense. Your best score is recorded when you extract, so reaching the target during a raid is not enough if you fail to secure the run.
How to Get Bully Fragmenters Efficiently
There are two documented sources for the item: Bullies and ARC Couriers. Neither guarantees a Fragmenter every time, so choose your method according to your equipment, remaining supplies, and willingness to fight.
Option 1: Search ARC Couriers
Check ARC Couriers encountered during your regular looting route. This approach lets you search for Fragmenters without deliberately engaging a powerful ARC enemy.
- Search each Courier you can reach safely.
- Collect the Fragmenters you find and check your inventory before continuing.
- Avoid taking unnecessary fights while carrying valuable supplies.
- Extract when the items you have collected justify securing the run.
Option 2: Defeat a Bully
Bullies are dangerous ARC machines introduced with Frozen Trail. If you have a suitable weapon and enough ammunition, defeating one provides another opportunity to obtain a Bully Fragmenter.
Before committing to the fight, assess nearby cover, escape routes, and the possibility of encountering other Raiders. If your loadout is underpowered or your inventory contains valuable equipment, searching Couriers during ordinary raids may be a more sensible option.
Preparation priority: Keep the Fragmenters required for your other progression goals separate from those you intend to spend on the Trial.
Best Targets and Throwing Technique
A Bombardier is a practical target for this Trial because its large body gives the Fragmenter’s clusters a reasonable chance to connect. A current community strategy recommends using a Bombardier on Riven Tides, but the Trial itself is not restricted to that map. Choose a target you can approach and damage without putting your entire loadout at risk.
Follow this sequence for each throw:
- Find a Bombardier or another suitable ARC target. Prefer an encounter where you have enough space to aim and access to nearby cover.
- Position yourself within effective throwing distance. Avoid throwing from an angle that makes the explosive land well away from the machine.
- Aim close to the target’s body. Place the Fragmenter underneath or beside the enemy to give its clusters a better chance of connecting.
- Move back to cover. Avoid standing in the open while the explosive clusters detonate or the ARC enemy retaliates.
- Check your score before using another item. Continue only if you still need qualifying damage and the encounter remains manageable.
How Much Damage Can One Fragmenter Deal?
The listed item profile gives the Bully Fragmenter eight clusters, each dealing 40 damage, with a five-metre radius. Its theoretical maximum is therefore 320 damage if all eight clusters connect and register their listed damage.
| Clusters that connect | Approximate damage |
| 2 | 80 |
| 4 | 160 |
| 6 | 240 |
| 8 | 320 |
These figures are estimates based on the listed damage per cluster, not guaranteed results in every encounter. Five perfect throws would theoretically exceed the three-star target, but actual damage may be lower. Bring enough Fragmenters to allow for missed clusters rather than relying on the maximum possible damage.
Loadout Preparation and Survival
Your loadout should support the objective without exposing more equipment than necessary. The Fragmenter provides the qualifying damage, while your firearm, healing supplies, and shield help you survive the encounter and reach extraction.
Before deployment, check the following:
- Weapons: Bring a reliable firearm with enough ammunition to handle other threats.
- Healing: Carry suitable healing items and shield rechargers.
- Protection: Choose a shield and augment that fit your available equipment.
- Inventory: Avoid bringing unnecessary valuables if you intend to take a risky combat route.
- Extraction: Identify a practical exit route before engaging a dangerous ARC machine.
Do not spend every Fragmenter just to finish the Trial faster. If you are still collecting the materials for the Anvil Blueprint or a Research Station upgrade, reserve the required items first.
Bully Fragmenter Blueprint and Research Priorities
The Anvil Blueprint is a separate progression objective that can compete for the same Fragmenters. To research it, you need a Research Station at Level 2, 3,000 Research Points, five Bully Fragmenters, and one Rusted Tools. Learning the blueprint unlocks the Anvil crafting recipe.
The Research Station upgrade from Level 2 to Level 3 is a different expense. It requires three Differential Microphones, three Exodus Technical Handbooks, and six Bully Fragmenters. Do not confuse the upgrade requirements with the materials needed to research the Anvil Blueprint.
Use this priority order if you have limited supplies:
- Reserve five Fragmenters if researching the Anvil Blueprint is your immediate goal.
- Reserve another six if you also plan to upgrade your Research Station to Level 3.
- Use only the remaining Fragmenters for the Trial.
- If you cannot spare enough items, collect more through Couriers and Bully encounters before attempting a dedicated damage run.
Common Mistakes That Waste Resources
Throwing too far away: Poor placement can cause clusters to miss. Move closer when it is safe and aim near the target’s body.
Fighting without cover: Bombardiers can punish exposed Raiders. Use cover between throws and disengage if the encounter becomes too dangerous.
Ignoring the score: Check your Trial progress during the raid. Stop using valuable explosives once you have reached the desired milestone.
Forgetting extraction: Your score must be secured by extracting successfully. Once you reach three stars, avoid unnecessary fights and focus on leaving safely.
Spending blueprint materials: Bully Fragmenters have research and upgrade uses beyond this challenge. Keep your intended crafting and upgrade requirements in mind before deploying.
Final Raid Checklist
Before your next attempt, confirm that you have the Fragmenters you can afford to spend, a suitable target, enough healing supplies, and a clear extraction plan. During the raid, aim each throw carefully, monitor your score, and extract once you have secured the required progress.
If you are also managing your wider ARC Raiders BluePrints collection, keep research materials separate from Trial supplies. Optional purchases or searches for cheap ARC Raiders Coins should not distract you from the actual Research Station requirements. Prioritise the Anvil Blueprint if you need its crafting recipe, collect additional Fragmenters when your inventory is low, and return to the weekly Trial when you can afford the explosives needed for another attempt.
